MLM is Margie Lowenstein. I am a designer with great passion for what I do, and have created custom home interiors in New Jersey and the greater New York City area and beyond since my early twenties. I believe that the most important aspect of making a house a home is expressing authenticity, the unique expression of an individual’s true self. My expertise lies in being able to listen closely to my clients, draw out their imaginations, conceptualize how everything will flow in a space, and bring all the design elements together harmoniously. I encourage you to play as active a role in the interior design and decorating process as you choose, and thrive on spontaneity and sweating the details. Check out the Special Touches section of the gallery for some examples of how I use elements of color, texture, pattern, shape and balance, to make each project unique and special.
One of my favorite aspects of being an Interior Designer is to get to know my clients, draw out their imaginations, conceptualize how a space will flow and feel, and then bring all the design elements together harmoniously. I embrace the many options in colors, fabrics, textures, accessories, wall coverings and lighting, to help express each client's individuality and style.
I strive to make each project unique, and bring enthusiasm, talent, and most of all hard work to each project.
Most of my clients are referred by other clients. They are clients that are constant and by that I mean keep coming back to me to do more homes or redo what we have done many years before. Some jobs we approach one room at a time and continue through the rest of the house and other jobs we take on the entire home. I also do many commercial jobs. No job is too small or too big. I truly have great relationships with my clients. Working with my clients I develop a special relationship and we usually end up becoming friends because design work is so very personal.
I am located in Chester, NJ, and my client are all over New Jersey and the greater New York City metropolitan area. No place is too far for me to go. I go from Atlantic City to Long Beach Island and all the way to Englewood and Woodcliff Lakes. I have also done many jobs in New York City, Long Island, The Hamptons, Florida, Boston, Philadelphia, Colorado, and Arizona. If my clients want me I am there.
I attended Washington University in St Louis where I received my BA degree. After finishing college I decided to go to the New York School of Interior Design while working at my father’s design and furniture store. I found that working at the store was very valuable. I learned about materials, textures, working with clients and also being able to use the tools that I learned at school. When the furniture store closed I opened up my own design studio. I have been working in the design field since I have been 22 years old.
